Desotorow seeks entries for photography exhibition

Desotorow Gallery is seeking submissions of photographic works for a juried exhibition Feb. 13-18. The exhibition, titled "The Extended Moment," will be juried and curated by guest curator and SCAD photography professor Craig Stevens. Work submitted to this exhibition should explore the idea of the extended moment –– a longer exposure, multiple exposure, or a sequential imagery theme. Submissions (in digital form only) may be made via mail to Desotorow Gallery, 2427 De Soto Avenue, Savannah, GA 31401, or by e-mail. Artists may submit up to five works for a $10 fee. Art in the Atrium seeks exhibition and silent auction entries

The Art in the Atrium exhibition, "Sustainability Through Art: The Supportive Foundation for the Future," emcompasses a series of events, including a silent auction, artist talks and educational programs held throughout the month of April (Earth Month) to raise awareness about environmentalism. American Diabetes Red Rider jersey design contest

American Diabetes Association event organizers are sponsoring the 2009 Annual Tour de Cure cycling event "Red Rider" jersey design contest. One winning jersey design will be chosen to become the official design for the jersey. The artist of the winning design will be featured in an official ADA press release and honored at a Tour de Cure event at which professional and amateur cyclists and local media will be in attendance. The deadline for art submissions is Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009. The artist whose design is chosen will be notified within 10 days of the deadline. LVMH Prize for Young Creative Artists - Homage to Picasso

The LVMH Prize panel of judges will select six winning entries from among the works submitted by the candidates (three from France and three from abroad), each of whom will each receive a 4,270 euro overseas study grant (approximately $5,500) and a return airline ticket to study at a foreign art school. The competition is sponsored by Louis Vuitton/Moet Hennessy Group. The international art school competition is open to students enrolled at a state or private art school. Candidates must submit a work they have produced that reflects the theme of this year's competition, "Painting Against." Any form of artistic expression is allowed within the limits stipulated in the rules. The deadline for entries is April 30, 2009. The Fresh M.I.L.K. photography competition is a $125,000 international competition to find images that capture spontaneous and humorous moments shared between friends, family and lovers around the world. Agora Gallery of New York City announces the 24th Chelsea International Fine Art Competition 2009, an annual juried international fine art contest. The 2009 competition will be juried by Ira Goldberg, executive director, the Art Students League of New York. The competition is open to all visual artists 18 years of age and older working in any media including digital, fine art and photography, with the exception of video art, film and performance art, jewelry and crafts. Awards valued at $38,000 will be distributed as follows: exhibition at the Chelsea art gallery, cash awards, Internet exposure, and publicity in ARTisSpectrum magazine. The gallery/artist split will be 50/50. In the spirit of giving, 25 percent of Agora Gallery's proceeds of sales resulting from the competition exhibition will be donated to Art Start, an award-winning, nationally recognized program helping underprivileged youth and teens.
